Well after a week with the movers and days of cleaning we ended the afternoon with our wonderful Landlord; emphasis on Lord and him bilking us out of our deposit we were off to the boat. Fortunately it was 100 degrees today so it was well prepped to act as a slow cooker. The traffic out of DC on Friday afternoon on Labor day weekend was moving like Molasses in January even though we were in the dog days of summer.
Patricia raced ahead of me to ensure that she would get to Deale and be able to claim our repaired Bimini Cover and panels from Catherine’s Upholstery. The lady there was kind enough to wait for Patricia while she battled traffic. We got the cover and will need the shade this weekend. I finally arrived about 6:15 PM and got a few items out of the truck and onto the boat, to include the litter box. I got the air conditioning turned on and the thermostats inside the boat read 96 degrees–Mini was not happy. Things cooled off after a while and the cats relaxed. Patricia and I went to the store for some milk, ate dinner consisting of weird leftovers from the home fridge and also took time to explore Captain Kidd’s liquor emporium. It will take a week in there to make us forget the last month. It’s late, we’re dead tired and still don’t have a toilet (working) onboard. We’ll leave you with the cats settling onto the ladder to ensure they trip me at each opportunity.
