Charleston SC, Very nice city..

November 10, 2012 by Last Star blog

Well after a few rough days and some long ICW treks we finally arrived in Charleston.  After two days of living like Rock Stars we need to push off so here’s a quick post of some things we saw and did.

We must be going in the right direction if Carnival’s here….

Welcoming committee as we wait to take fuel and our slip

Cool old ship at our Marina that someone is using in a Wedding today…

Afternoon treat at Magnolia’s, very nice brownie and espresso to go with my Martini lunch

Dinner at Jestine’s Kitchen…we worked our way backward in food chain, dessert first and finished with fried oysters and lots of appetizers in between

Papparazzi still stalking us….actually College Hoops Carrier Classic here in a few days, note the grandstands on the carrier deck for the game(s)

Patricia and I at “Pearlz” last night for happy hour and fresh oysters.  Amazing Happy Hour Menu and drinks and the oysters were amazing.  Talked with manager and he said the oysters are fresh from……Keemah Texas!!  Too funny.  Had great laughs with Don and Pam from Wisconsin who live aboard here in Charleston for the winter–great couple.

We need to push off back into the ICW, will try and capture more later.

Charleston is a great stop! Magnolia’s and Jestines are favorites. The next time you stop in Charleston, go to 82 Queen, fabulous shrimp and grits! Great outdoor courtyard in the back when weather is nice. Al and Rico were in Jacksonville this weekend for the Hoya vs Florida basketball game in the deck of the USS Baatan. The game was a 9 pm start and was cancelled after half time because of all of the condensation forming on the court. They said it was a great experience none the less. Safe travels and enjoy the warm weather and water you are heading towards. Best, Terry
