You need Magic and Faith in these here parts…..

So we departed Perry Marine and continued north.  Our leg would be short outside and we were amazed at the quality of the water off shore.  There was little wind and what was blowing was a bit offshore so the quality of the water was like oil on top it was so smooth.  We tried to take pictures but they do not do it justice.  We could easily see the bottom +50 feet below us.  It was such a rich and deep blue color

After about an hour off shore we ducked back into the islands as we wanted to get behind Rudder Cay and then slide up and see Musha Cay the next day after the tide was up.  Both of these islands are private and you are not allowed to go ashore.  Rudder had some caves to look at and a sunken old airplane nearby.    We dinghied up to the cave

and found one lonely conch there–one is not enough for a conch salad so we put him back.  We also took a short snorkel dive on a sunken old airplane.

When we got anchored I was diving below the boat and checking the anchor and saw this little creature…

Look closely...

Can you see him?

OK, now you MUST see him....

How about now?  He was multiple colors and changes in the blink of an eye.  The white on the sand was the creepiest and coolest.

I followed him about 5 minutes.  He would get in grass and try and “stand up” to look more like a blade of grass.  Pretty funny.

Here’s a few snaps of the sunken airplane just west of Rudder Cay.

So that was our day…tomorrow Musha Cay.  As for the title of the post today….Rudder Cay is owned by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw and Musha Cay is owned by David Copperfield.  He rents out Musha for $45K/night!! So I’m told.  Lots of no-trespassing signs around here.  More on that tomorrow.
