When we arrived in St Augustine we recognized that one of the boats “was not like the others”.
We decided to make the tour the next day as this seemed pretty cool. We tried to get an early start to beat the thunderstorms and the heat. The ship is about 170 feet long, draws 20 feet of water, could hold over 200 people and was just a monster for the era. The guy who took the tickets was funny and indicated that the tour was self guided and that the sauna and “hot yoga” was below decks and no extra charge. He was a nice guy and a school teacher from Orlando who was volunteering to be on the ship and assist for the summer.
The ship is currently so popular here that it extended its stay through 9 July and is in negotiations to return to St Augustine and make it its home port. You can also see the ship in some Captain Morgan’s Rum commercials on youtube.
Oh and the mandatory cat shot to keep up our ratings…..
